exemplary single channel electronics packaging
In measurements with SQUID electronics in detector setup the dc SQUID amplifies signals with small amplitudes of a detector with high bandwidth. This allows the use of conventional AD-converters for further signal processing. All necessary operational currents and voltages for the SQUID and the detector (dc current and current impulses for heating the detector with a minimal length of 10 µs calibration) can be easily controlled by a computer.
This type of SQUID electronics was designed for the amplification of highly-sensitive detector signals with small output impedance.
It has been used in x-ray spectroscopy and in astrophysical applications.
